Biography

David White is a current faculty member at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri (USA) and faculty member in the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Medicine. He received his masters degree in exercise physiology from the University of Pittsburgh. He continued at the University of Pittsburgh for his PhD in exercise physiology with a focus in pediatrics and epidemiology. He is a certified clinical exercise physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine and currently executes exercise testing on children with complex congenital heart disease. His current research interests are parenting behaviors associated with development and treatment of childhood obesity, behavioral risk factors associated with development of atherosclerosis, weight management intervention with a focus on exercise prescription, and physical activity bout patterns associated with effective exercise treatment.
