Biography

Duff was born in Kingston, Jamaica and attended St Andrew High School. She is a graduate of the Royal Victoria Hospital School of Nursing, Montreal, has a BScN(MCL) from the University of Miami, MSc and PhD in Clinical Nutrition from the Tropical Metabolism Research Unit, Faculty of Medical Sciences, the University of the West Indies, Mona. She currently serves on the Specialist Post Graduate Board, UWISON and Review Boards of several international journals. Her main research interest has been in chronic non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. She is the author of many published abstracts, articles and book chapters on these and other topics. She has published research in the American Journal of Public Health, Lancet, West Indian Medical Journal, International Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Journal of Pediatrics, International Journal of Metabolism, International Journal of Health Care, Journal of Adolescence and the Journal of Transcultural Nursing. She has recently retired as a Senior Lecturer at the University of the West Indies School of Nursing, Faculty of Medical Sciences and now lectures part time at UWI. She is married to Donald John Duff, Rotarian, now retired from IBM & KPMG and she is a member of the United Church of Jamaica.
