Claudio letizia is currently associate professor of internal medicine at the university of rome “sapienzaâ€, italy. After completing his degree in medicine and surgery in 1980 with 110/110 cum laude, he achieved specialization in endocrinology in 1983, and specialization in internal medicine in 1989 with highest honors. He is actually vice director of the school of specialization of internal medicine ii school, university of rome “sapienzaâ€. He is coordinator of international phd program in arterial hypertension and vascular biology (arhyvab), a phd course merged in a large international research network, especially within university of padova and the school for cardiovascular diseases in maastricht (carim), netherlands. He carries out its research activities as chief of internal medicine and secondary hypertension, policlinico umberto i, and professor in department of internal medicine and medical specialties, university of “sapienzaâ€, rome, italy. he deals with primary and endocrine causes of secondary arterial hypertension (especially adrenal diseases) and their molecular mechanisms. He focuses his work on major cardiovascular disease and their related major complications, the pathophysiology of adipose tissue, obesity-related diseases and the metabolic disorders. He has over more than 290 publications in international journals (h-index 33). He’s chairman, speaker/invited speaker at nationals and international meeting from major italian and italian european societies (simi, siia, sic, sie, sid, esc, esh, club del surrene, ens@t).
