Biography

Marco Agustin Linan Cabello, research Professor Titular B in the School of Marine Sciences of the University of Colima, Mexico. In 2002, he obtained the degree of Doctor Marine Biotechnology at the Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education of Ensenada (CICESE). Regarding his training as a diver in 2004 he obtained the certification as Scuba Dive Master PDI. He is currently Leader of the Academic Group Multi-disciplinary Investigations in Aquatic Systems (CA-095) (Consolidated Status), of the University of Colima. In recent years, his research has focused on the study of stress in marine organisms, from a biochemical and molecular perspective. They have been affected by the organisms with which they work for themselves: shrimp, shark, fish of aquaculture importance, mollusks. For the past 6 years he has studied the coral communities as the main indicator species of climate change, in this sense he has carried out projects of applied science to the restoration of ecological environments in the region of the Central Mexican Pacific. He has published more than 30 scientific articles. He is currently Leader of a Network project among different national academic bodies, with the objective of studying benthic marine species associated with environmental forcing, having as a case study in Manzanillo Port -Mexico.
