Biography

Dr Xinzhong Wu is currently a Professor (National professor of level-two) and was the Dean of Ocean College (2015-2017) of Beibu Gulf University, China. He was a Professor (National professor of level-three) in College of Animal Sciences, a leader of Subjects of Aquaculture, Zhejiang University, China (2003-2015). And also He was a Researcher (Professor-level Researcher) at South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS, 1996-2003) and the First Deputy Director in Dayawan Marine Biological Comprehensive Experimental Station (State Key Open Station and CERN Station), CAS (2001-2003). He is a scientist in Marine Biology and Aquaculture (such as Marine Mollusc Diseases, and Mollusc and Fish Immunology) as well as in Parasite Immunology (such as the intermediate host Biomphalaria glabrata for combating Schistosoma mansoni). His research interest is Comparative and Evolutionary Immunology of mollusk models (oyster, abalone and freshwater Biomphalaria glabrata) and Fish Immunology. He was a visiting scientist in University of Alberta, Canada (from 2007-2008). He also served as a collaborative professor in cooperation with Sunnybrook Research Institute, University of Toronto, Canada (from 2012-2014). Up to now, Dr. Wu has published about 70 papers in English journals such as eLife, Trends in Parasitology, Immunogenetics, Heliyon, Developmental and Comparative Immunology, Molecular Immunology, Aquaculture, Infection, Genetics and Evolution, PLOS ONE, Fish and Shellfish Immunology, Biochemical and Biophysical Research Commnications and so on.
