He obtained his PhD in Crop Science major in Agronomy and minor in Soil Science in 2015 at the Central Luzon State University, Science City of Munoz Nueva Ecija, Philippines. He is the head of the Department of Agronomy (DA), Visayas State University (VSU), Baybay City, Leyte, Philippines from January 1, 2019 to February 2022. As Professor and Researcher, he teaches agriculture courses in undergraduate and graduate degree programs specifically the fundamentals of crop production, farming systems, rootcrops production, sugarcane production, and advanced cereal production. He also developed fundable research project proposals and conducted three big research projects in the University in collaboration with the International and National linkages. The projects conducted are as follows; 1) The National Cooperative Testing Program for Grain Legumes, 2) VSU-IRRI Collaborative Project on Genetic Evaluation of Pre-Variety Breeding Rice Lines Through the ASEAN RiceNet, and 3) Training, Technical Assistance and Distribution of Agronomic Crops Planting Materials in Support to RDEI Programs of VSU and other Agencies in Eastern Visayas. He served as research adviser both the undergraduate and graduate students. He published 37 articles and 4 review paper in international and local publications. Now, he is a holder of Professor 5 position.
