Živana Slović was born on October 25th, 1982 in Kragujevac (Republic of Serbia). Since March 2009, she is employed at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kragujevac, at the Department of Forensic Medicine, and since April 2021, she is an assistant professor for the narrower scientific field of Forensic Medicine. She passed the specialist exam and obtained the title of specialist in forensic medicine in 2017, and defended her doctoral dissertation entitled "Forensic characteristics of fatal injuries and injury mechanisms of participants in road traffic accidents" in 2019. She participated in the project "Molecular, biochemical and immune analysis in tumor diagnosis" funded by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development from 2011-2014, as well as in the junior project at the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Kragujevac "Effect of formalin and paraffin block on the degree of fragmentation of DNA molecules in liver, heart and brain tissues removed during forensic autopsies" and ,,The use of nucleic acids isolated from vitreous humour in forensics: DNA, RNA and micro RNA“. She has been hired as a reviewer for the prestigious international journals Springer nature group: BMC Emergency medicine and scientific reports, as well as in Journal of Forensic Science and Research. She is a member of the Medical Chamber of Serbia, the Serbian Medical Association and the Section of Forensic Medicine of Serbia.
