Selcan Tufan is a Graduate Lecturer in Law at Cardiff University and a doctoral researcher specialising in financial crime, counter-terrorism, and asset forfeiture. Her PhD, titled "Asset Forfeiture and the Financing of Terrorism Regulations: Analysing Domestic Approaches and Compliance with FATF Recommendations 5–8 in the United Kingdom, Russia, and Türkiye", examines the effectiveness of national and international regulatory frameworks in combating terrorism financing .She holds a Bar Vocational Studies qualification with a focus on Advanced Advocacy Skills and has completed specialist training in anti-money laundering and open-source intelligence. Alongside her doctoral research, Selcan Tufan has contributed to legal education as a Graduate Lecturer in Law at Cardiff University. She is committed to producing research that not only advances academic understanding but also informs practice and policy, particularly in the areas of compliance, counter-terrorism, and financial regulation.
