Biography

Professor Emeritus Milo Colton is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder with B.A., M.P.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. He also graduated from the University of Iowa with a J.D. degree, and he holds active law licenses in Washington, D.C., Nebraska, U.S. District Court in Nebraska, U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Winnebago Tribal Court.

For fifteen years, he served as Regional Counsel to the Civil Rights Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (CRLDEF), providing legal advice and representation to American Indian clients, including the Texas Intertribal Native Enrollment Agency, South Texas Indian Dancers Association, McAllen Grace Brethren Church, the Native American New Life Center, Chief of Chiefs Christian Church (formerly known as San Antonio Indian Fellowship), Native American Church of Yanaguana, Texas Native Nations Council, and the Apache Council of Texas.

He taught Legal Studies in the Criminal Justice Program and Administrative Law in the Master of Public Administration Program at the University of Texas at San Antonio from 1994-2001.
