Biography

Atilio Nasti graduated in Anthropological Sciences from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters University of Buenos Aires in 1986 and PhD in archaeology from the same University in 1991. For ten years he served as a fellow of the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) at the National Institute of Anthropology, carrying out zooarchaeological and taphonomic studies in the Puna Austral.
He has also worked as a Forensic Anthropologist working as an Official Expert in several judicial cases and at the request of the Federal Police. He was part of the Technical Commission for the Exhumation and Identification of Persons for the Ministry of the Interior from 1986 to 1989.
He is currently developing as a professor of Introduction to Archaeology in the Career of History and Archaeology and Forensic Anthropology in the career of Legal Medicine of the Catholic University of Argentina. For a decade he has been teaching annually Seminars on Archaeology and Forensic Taphonomy in the specialization of Legal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the Buenos Aires University, in the specialization of Legal Medicine of the Barcelo in Legal Foundation and in the specialization Medicine of the University Institute of the Argentine Federal Police. Since 2015 he is Senior Researcher in the Area of Criminalistics and Forensic Studies of the Argentine National Gendarmerie.
