Dawei Liang is Associate Professor with Habilitation of NOVA University of Lisbon. He was the founder of the solar-pumped laser laboratory of Physics Department, New University of Lisbon, holding presently world records in solar laser collection efficiency of 41.3 W/m2 and solar-to-laser conversion efficiency of 4.64%. Several world records in solar laser collection efficiency have been established by his team in last ten years. His researches on solar lasers were highlighted by Spotlights on Optics in 2012, Laser Physics in 2013, Laser Focus World in 2013, 2016, 2022, JPE and SPIE News in 2022. His "Solar-Pumped Lasers" book was published by Springer-Nature in 2023. He was in “World’s Top 2% Scientists list” by Stanford University in 2021, 2023, and 2024.
He serves as Associate Editor of “Journal of Photonics for Energy”, Editorial Board Member of “International Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications”, Editor of “Energy Research Journal”, Academic Editor of “Academia Green Energy”, Guest Editors of “Sustainability”, Editorial Board Member of “Clean Energy and Sustainability”, and Topical Advisory Panel of “Photonics”.
