He earned his PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences in 1981 in theoretical and mathematical physics from the Institute of Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences, with a dissertation on relaxation processes at ultralow temperatures. In 1995, he defended his Doctor of Sciences thesis in Solid State Physics at Moscow State University, focusing on collective nuclear spin dynamics and non-equilibrium phenomena. He has been a Professor of Theoretical Physics since 2001 and was awarded the title of Honorary Worker of Education of the Russian Federation in 2023. He is the author of over 350 scientific publications, including eight monographs has supervised three completed postgraduate theses, and currently mentors doctoral and PhD candidates. His teaching covers theoretical and general physics, quantum and statistical mechanics, magnetism, mathematical physics, and optimal control theory.
