Dr Khaled habas obtained his first degree from the University of Misrata, Libya and second degrees MSc and PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Bradford, UK. After completing his PhD, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Bradford University in the areas of cancer biology and reproductive toxicology as well as cardiovascular diseases. He has been developing and using a novel in vitro test for male reproductive toxicity. He and his colleagues at Bradford discovered, using a combination of computational and molecular biological approaches, for a specific type of adhesion molecule that is not expressed in the normal, adult human testis, is expressed whenever spermatogenic damage is present. It seems to be a universal marker and has major importance in infertility diagnoses, male infertility treatment, and male contraception. Currently, He is a lecturer at the University of Bradford International College (UBIC). He has published 15 articles including research papers in journals like Nature Protocols and 5 book chapters. He has been a Review Editor in the Nanotoxicology of Frontiers Journal and serves as a reviewer for several national and international journals including the International Journal of Molecular Sciences and Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, Part A.
