Biography

Ahmad R Khatoonabadi, PhD of speech and language pathology and head of international department of speech therapy in Tehran University of Medical Sciences. He finished his B.Sc. of speech therapy from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. His thesis is B.Sc. was on speech and language disorders of patients with stroke and comparison with their CT. Scan under Dr. Chitsaz’s supervision. He defended from his thesis in M.Sc. at TUMS with title “semantic processing of concrete and abstract words in persons with RHD and LHD” under Prof. Yves Joanette’s supervision from Montreal University and advisors: Prof. Jubin Abutalebi, Prof. Hiram Brownell, Prof. Connie Tompkins, and Prof. Karen Bryan. Because of his interest in cognitive neuropsychology, in PhD he focused on naming disorders in persons with aphasia for his thesis with title: “The effect of sensory-motor exercises in the treatment of word retrieval deficits in patients with aphasia” under Prof. Harirchian’s supervision and special advisor Prof. Lyndsey Nickels from Macquarie University. During the study, Prof. David Caplan helped him a lot. Currently, he has a wide collaboration with famous experts from different domains such as neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, and speech and language pathology. Recently, he was success to collaborate with about fifteen professors through the world and TUMS prepared them as visiting professors of speech therapy department.
