Biography

Rasha is an astrophysicist affiliated with the Astronomy Department at the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG), Cairo, Egypt. She persued her Ph.D from Astronomy Department, Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Egypt. Her primary focus of work has been on studying the formation and evolution of early-type galaxies (ETGs) in different environments such as galaxy clusters, groups and in the field. She is also very much interested in studying the properties of brightest cluster galaxies (BCGs) and brightest group galaxies (BGGs) and their correlations with their host clusters and groups, respectively. She is also interested in studying the impact of active galactic nuclei (AGN), she recently joined the SKA (Square Kilometer Array) Science Working Groups (SWGs); Extragalactic Continuum SWG and HI Galaxy Science SWG. I’m also a new member of the Widefield ASKAP L-band Legacy All-sky Blind surveY (or WALLABY) team, for studying HI properties of galaxies, since August 2024.

Research Interests
