Biography

He was interested in the regulation of bone development as well as adult bone remodeling by IGF, BMPs and Wnt. He is working on trying to understand how does signaling pathways may interact and contribute to normal skeletal development and postnatal acquisition. He also worked on the biology of peripheral and bone marrow adipose tissue. Since adipocytes, chondrocytes and osteoblasts all originate from mesenchymal stem cell progenitors, he believe investigating all those lineages may be helpful to understand the mechanism of mesenchymal differentiation. During his doctoral work, he spearheaded two research projects to investigate the endocrine regulation of bone and adipose tissues in mice. He established a complete skeletal and adipose phenotype of a murine knockout model for Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein 4. He also developed a multiple cohort study investigating the effect of PTH on bone marrow adipose expansion induced by calorie restriction in mice. Currently, his postdoctoral work aims to investigate BMP3 signaling in postnatal bone acquisition
