Biography

Maria Lucia D Arbo Alves is a Medical Doctor with specialization in Endocrinology and Metabology and Pediatric Endocrinology. She obtained a Master's degree and a Doctoral degree in Internal Medicine granted by the Discipline of Endocrinology of the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirao Preto, University of Sao Paulo. The title of her Master's thesis was "Thyroid Nodules: Correlation between Clinical, Scintigraphy, Ultrasound, Aspirative Cytology and Histopathology Findings", and the title of her Doctoral thesis was "TSH Levels in Umbilical Cord Whole Blood and Urinary Iodine Levels Detected in Neonates Evaluated by the Program of Early Screening for Congenital Hypothyroidism of the University Hospital, Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirao Preto- USP". Since 2001 She has been working as a professor of Endocrinology in the Medical Course of the University of Ribeirao Preto- UNAERP.
