Biography

Meena Kumari M, did her undergraduate degree in Coimbatore Medical College, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. She moved to UK to pursue a career in paediatrics. She did her SHO training in London area and specialist training in Manchester region. she completed MRCPCH and DCH from the prestigious Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, London. She did her masters in paediatric diabetes from another prestigious University in Warwick. After completion of her training, She moved back to India for family reasons.She is currently working as a Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Endocrinologist in Kurinji Hospital and Paediatric Endocrinologist in Masonic Medical Centre for Children, both in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. She also do outreach clinics in Erode providing an expertise in paediatric endocrinolgy.she has an active interest in doing something for the community and closely involved regular teaching programmes in schools[adolescent health, health and hygeine for children] and colleges [premarital guidance - medical aspects]. She also actively involved in teaching post graduates and nurses in Masonic Medical Centre for Children. She is a Program advisor in Texila American University for students pursuing masters degree in paediatrics and child health. She has conducted two successful paediatric endocrine study days inviting national and international faculty attracting local practising paediatricians and post graduate trainees.She has about 100 children with diabetes, mostly type 1 but also type 2. She conduct three monthly regular support group for families and children with type 1 diabetes.
