Biography

Dr. Hashim Mohammad is an Associate Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar and Senior Consultant of Family Medicine working at Um Ghwailina Health Center Qatar. He has graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland in 1993 and is certified by the Arab Board of Family Medicine. He is affiliated with several other institutions including Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar, the Arabian Gulf University, College of medicine Kingdom of Bahrain, Greenwich University United Kingdom, Arab Board of medical specialties. He is a president of the Gulf Tissue Viability Group and executive member of the Gulf Group for the study Of Diabetes, Member of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes, a past member of the American Diabetes Association, past member of Qatar Diabetes Association and American Association of clinical endocrinologists. Journal articles and abstracts by him. He have been published in numerous journals including Primary care Diabetes, Journal of Lymphoedema, Qatar Medical Journal, Current Urology, Middle East Journal of Family Medicine, Saudi Medical Journal, and Singapore Medical Journal, Dialectology International, Dermatology Open Journal. Dr Mohamed is an examiner for the Arab Board of Medical specialties, and also a supervisor of PhD, Master and diploma students. He is also apart time trainer at the family medicine training program. Dr Mohamed interests include the study of diabetes epidemiology, diabetic foot, depression, counseling, Somatoform disorder and complementary and alternative medicine .He has special interest in the use of Natural honey in the management of a variety of wounds including acute and chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, varicose vein ulcers, traumatic wounds, burns, cancer related wounds and contact dermatitis. He has presented scientific papers both locally and internationally and has been awarded the best paper presentation at the First International conference of Family Medicine in Sultanate of Oman, Jan, 2009.His last award was the best oral presentation in the WONCA-Middle East conference-Dubai2016. Dr Mohamed has Co-authored an educational toolkit named" Diabetes" specifically written for diabetic patients written in both Arabic and English languages and has written a chapter in a scientific book named "Cellular and biological mechanism of honey wound healing". He is an associate editor in the Journal of Medical Case Reports, Middle East Journal of Family Medicine and Journal of Molecular &Genetic Medicine and Journal of Microbiology & Antimicrobials etc.
