Prof. (Dr.) Hayat M Mukhtar obtained his B.Pharm., M. Pharm. and Ph.D degree from Jamia Hamdard University, N Delhi, India in 1996, 2000 and 2005 respectively. He has extensive experience in academia and industry as well. He has more than twenty years of experience in teaching, research and industry. He has worked with many reputed institutions like, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi; University of Kashmir, Srinagar; Amritsar Pharmacy College, Amritsar; SBS Group of Educational Institutions, Punjab; Ranbaxy Research Laboratory, New Delhi and IIIM (formerly RRL), Jammu. He has successfully guided 72 M. Pharmacy students and 10 Ph.D scholars. He has recently joined as Dean cum Director, Sai School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Sri Sai University, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh on 1st January, 2020.
He is recipient of many prizes and awards namely, Best Ph. D. Dissertation Award, (ICAST-2018); Dr. P.D. Sethi Memorial Annual National Award-2018, Best Research Papers on Application of TLC/HP-TLC, Nation Builder Award, Rotary India Literacy Mission, 2014; SPER Young Talent Award 2013; Marquis Who’s Who in the World 2011 (28th edition); Eminent Educationist Award “Rashtriya Vidya Saraswati Puraskar”; “Life Time Achievement Award”; “Dr. P.D. Sethi Memorial Annual National Award-2010, Best Research Papers on Application of TLC/HP-TLC”. He is Member Board of Studies, Pharmacy, IK Gujral PTU, Jalandhar; Departmental Doctoral Board (DBB) Ph.D. panel member, Lovely Professional University, Phagwara; Departmental Research Committee for Ph.D under HPTU, Himachal Pradesh, Subject Expert, Member of Coordination Committee APTI Punjab State Branch; Co-Chairperson of Protocol Committee, LOC, 69th IPC, Chitkara University, 2017 and Panel of Inspectors, PCI.
He has organized number of National level seminars and Faculty development programmes sponsored by national regulatory authorities. He has to his credit of receiving grants from AICTE, ISTE, DBT, ICMR, HPTU and IK Gujral PTU. He is referee and editorial board member in number of national and international journals. He has more than 80 research publications published in national and international journals of repute and had authored three books for pharmacy students with cumulative impact factor 27.07 and h-index 15, i10-index 19. He has attended and presented research papers in more than 70 national and international conferences, seminars and symposia and chaired a number of scientific sessions.
