Biography

Currently she was working as Associate Professor at IFTM University, teaching advanced organic Chemistry & Medicinal chemistry to undergraduate/postgraduate students. She did her PhD under Prof. Sushil Kumar on research topic â€œSynthesis, computational studies and pharmacological activities of benzodiazepines derivatives linked with aryl piperazinesâ€. She has four research/review publications based on my PhD research. In her research work, under the able guidance of her supervisor, she has prepared a number of benzodiazepine derivatives and evaluated the selected compounds for potential anti-anxiety and skeletal muscle relaxant activity. Molecular docking studies revealed that the target compounds correctly dock into the binding pocket of the GABAA receptor, while their bioavailability/drug-likeness was predicted to be acceptable. Log P values of the target compounds indicates good penetration to CNS. Animal experimentation on Swiss albino mice revealed that the test compounds (E1-10 and G1-10) exhibited potent anti-anxiety and skeletal muscle relaxant activity using Elevated plus maze and Rotarod method respectively.
