Biography

Siva Purushothuman is a Doctoral Fellow based at the Brain & Mind Centre (BMC), University of Sydney. Siva holds a PhD in Neuroscience, a graduate certificate in Business management, and double degrees in Psychology and Medical Science (Hons). His has vast basic and clinical expertise in Neurology, Ophthalmology, Inflammation & Immunology, and Vascular Biology. This is complemented with drug, medical device and natural supplementation therapies in aging and Neurodegenerative diseases. Currently at BMC, he is working hard to understand the common and varied risk factors, diagnostic biomarkers and pathogenesis in neurodegenerative conditions such as dementia and Lewy body diseases, Alzheimers disease and Parkinsons disease towards better diagnosis and management of these neurological disorders. His work has been featured in peer-reviewed journals and received media attention. He is active in Health and Medical Research-specific organisations, and is currently an Editor for some International Journals in his field.
