Biography

Dr. Kun Xie is currently a Lecturer in Transportation at University of Canterbury. He completed his PhD from New York University and worked as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP) prior to his current position. His research concentrates on the use of statistics, machine learning and big data to enhance the safety, efficiency and resilience of transportation systems. He has published over 50 refereed papers in scholarly journals and conference proceedings received IEEE ITSS Best Dissertation Award, CUTC Milton Pikarsky Memorial Award and Transportation Research Board (TRB) Best Paper Award for his research outcomes.

Research Interests

Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Artificial Intelligence in Smart Cities Big Data Analytics Transportation Safety Emergency Management.
