Biography

Susana Rubio-Valdehita is full professor and head of the Department of Differential and Work Psychology at Complutense University of Madrid. Her education includes a PhD in Industrial Psychology. She has received several research awards such as the Psychological Research Award González del Pino (Ministry of Defence of Spain). From 1990, she has focused her research activity on the methodology of psychological evaluation, as well as on the study of the cognitive processes involved in human activity with special emphasis on research on mental workload. Her most outstanding research has focused on the analysis of the psychometric qualities of the instruments of evaluation of the mental workload and on the development of new evaluation instruments, as well as on basic and applied investigation of attention and memory related to mental workload, considering activities of different kinds (academic, professional, daily life) and with samples of subjects from both the general population and specific groups (elderly, workers, students, etc.). She is author of more than 80 publications (papers and books). She has participated and directed more than twenty research projects financed by public and private entities about safety at work; risk quantification, workload and cognitive processes. Recently, she has developed the CarMen_Q questionnaire for subjective mental workload assessment.
