Biography

Ritesh Ranjan Pal is an Assistant Professor in the School of Biological Sciences at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata, India. He has graduated as a Bachelor in Science from the Presidency College, Kolkata, India in 2003 with a major in Physiology. He did his Masters in Genetics from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India in 2005 and completed his PhD in 2013 from the CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Kolkata, India on Molecular Microbiology. Then He has moved to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel for postdoctoral study on host pathogen interactions of enters pathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC). In June 2020, He joined his current position IACS, Kolkata, India and also awarded with prestigious Ramalingaswami Fellowship from Department of Biotechnology (DBT) of Government of India. Currently, the focus of his research is to characterize the membranous nanotubes that bacteria utilize for intra and inter kingdom communications.
