Biography

Dr. Kant completed his undergraduate degree BSc in Biotechnology from Ranchi University in India. He did his MSc in Biotechnology from HNB Garhwal University in India and then in 2011 he completed his PhD degrees in Botany from the University of Delhi in India. Then Dr. Kant moved to United States in 2012 as Post-Doctoral Researcher work at Department of Pathology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Columbus, OH. In his post-doctoral work, the major emphasis of his work is to understand the molecular basis of gram-positive bacterial pathogenesis especially related to Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumonia, Staphylococcus aureus (including multidrug-resistant) and anaerobic bacterium Clostridium difficile. Then, He moved to Cleveland Clinic as Post-doctoral Fellow and worked there for two years. Currently, he is working as Research Instructor at University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, Aurora, CO. He is working on the long-standing question in examining the molecular mechanisms by which Salmonella avoids ROS and NOS encounter and protects itself against oxidative and nitrosative stress.
