Biography

Dr. Paramananda Saikiaâ€™s research interests encompass determining the mechanism by which microRNA (small non-coding RNA), is contributing to ethanol-induced liver injury and inflammationduring the progression of alcoholic liver disease (ALD). During his graduate studies at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, He gained considerable training in virology. As a postdoctoral fellow at Cleveland Clinic, He has extended his research focus on elucidating mechanisms of the innate immune system against viral infection. Now, He has actively been involved with collaborative projects to broaden his area of interest and skills set. Collectively, his research experience in the innate immunity has been multi-faceted, ranging from virology to inflammation and innate immunity.
