Biography

Hossein Mozdarani, Professor of Radiation Genetics/ Radiobiologist, faculty of Medical Sciences, Tarbiat Modares university, Tehran/ Iran, is engaged in post-graduate research and teaching for 28 years. He has supervised over 24 Ph.Dand over 120 M.Sc students for their Thesis projects. He has published over 270 papers in well reputed national and international Journals and Editor or translator of 18 academic books. He is a leading pioneer in radiation genetic toxicology in Iran and has a broad background in genetic toxicology of ionizing radiation as well as chemical and environmental factors affecting human health. His main theme of research is genome instability induced by physico-chemical agents leading to carcinosgenesis and ill health such as infertility. He introduced a new class of chemicals as radiation countermeasure which may be beneficial for cancer patients and those occupationally exposed to low dose ionizing radiation. He is also Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Radiation Research for more than 15 years and editorial board member of international and national journals.
