Dr. Vijaykumar B. VARMA is Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is the project lead for CREATE phase II project on aeoeMagnetic Nanofluids for Cooling and Energy Harvestingae under "Nanomaterials for Energy & Water Management" program in collaboration with HUJ, Israel. He received masters in physics (M.Sc. Physics) degree from Department of Physics, University of Pune, India and doctorate (Ph.D.) from School of Materials Science and Engineering, NTU, Singapore. His research includes magnetofluidic cooling and energy harvesting, droplet microfluidics, micro-magnetofluidics, numerical simulations, nanomaterials, protein detection, Janus particles, and characterizations. His current research interests are in the development of experimental and numerical magnetofluidics for quantitative flow behaviour analysis, new designs and strategies for Lab-a-Chip, mass-heat transfer, novel magnetic cooling device, and energy harvesting applications. He is an accomplished scientific communicator & relationship builder, lectured, and conducted practical sessions on a wide range of topics including, but not limited to: droplet microfluidics, Lab-on-a-Chip, magnetic cooling, Janus particle, and high energy nanomaterials synthesis.
