Colin Hughes currently the Professional Lead for Mental Health at Queens University Belfast, School of Nursing and Midwifery, as well as the Programme Director for the British Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapists (BABCP) level two accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy Programme at the School. In addition to this He is also an NMC registrant as well as a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. He has been involved in education for over ten years and clinically in the general field of Mental Health for twenty years. His particular educational and clinical interests lie in the general area of motivation and more specifically the areas of Personality Disorders, Self-Harm and all of the anxiety disorders as well as substance use. He is currently a regular reviewer for the International Journal of Nurse measurement as well as the Journal of Nursing Children and Young People. In addition to this He regularly present at conferences both nationally and internationally the latest was the 2nd International Nursing Conference in 2017 when He presented on the issue of Formulation and person centred treatment.
