Joydeep Dutta Chaudhuri is a medical doctor whose speciality is in Anatomy and Cell Biology. He is currently a teaching faculty in the College of Health Sciences, Husson University, Bangor, Maine. Following completion of his medical degree he initially taught at University Malaya Kuala Lumpur at the Department of Anatomy, where he was involved in research on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS). Following that he was engaged in innovative research using Laser Capture Microscope (LCM) to carry out investigations on characterization of neuronal subtypes in different brain regions. This was to gain an insight into the mechanism involved in the causation of Alzheimer’s disease, and all the studies were carried out at Kuopio University, Finland. He then moved on to become a faculty member in the Anatomy department at Midwestern University, Phoenix, Arizona where along with his duties of teaching medical students, he continued his studies on memory loss in FAS. His also worked at premier research institutions in Canada, namely Sunnybrook hospital and York University where he focussed on studies of the ultramicroscopic structure of neurons. In his current position at Husson University, he is engaged in research methods that are aimed at enhancing student learning.
