Zoran Zoricic was born in Å ibenik in 1966, where he finished elementary and high school. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb in 1991. He completed his specialization in psychiatry in 2000, his master's degree in 2002 with the theme "The influence of alcohol on the aggression of patients with PTSD-pm", his doctorate in 2004 with the topic "Correlation of depression and aggression in patients with alcohol addicts". He is a leading expert in the field of addiction in the country, is a Subspecialist for Addiction Diseases, Head of the Institute of Alcoholism and Other Addictions at the Clinic for Psychiatry of the Sisters of Mercy of KBC, Head of the Reference Center of the Ministry of Addiction, Associate Professor of the School of Dental Medicine and Higher Medical School, Head of the College for Diseases of Addiction Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, Lecturer at the Faculty of Kinesiology. He is the president of the Croatian Society for Alcoholism and Other Addictions at the Croatian Medical Association and the Croatian Association of Alcoholics Clubs, which he has revitalized over the last ten years. He is the founder and presenter of the "Alcohol Summer School", a leading scientific and professional symposium with international participation in the Republic of Croatia for the past ten years, and has made a significant contribution to the organization of several international Alpe-Adria congresses on addiction diseases. He is the Coordinator of the International Specialist School on Addictions in Kotor, Montenegro, which is sponsored by the "United Nations European Center for Peace and Development." He is a member of a number of professional bodies in the country, and has been invited guest speaker in several countries around the world. He has authored or co-authored three professional books and one hundred scientific papers. He is the founder of psychosociotherapy groups KLOK, an experimental model for the treatment of pathological gamblers.
