Surya Raj Niraula is a Professor of School of Public Health and Community Medicine at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan, Nepal. He completed his post-graduate degree in Statistics from Central Department of Statistics, Kirtipur, Kathmandu and his doctorate degree in Statistics at the same academic institution. He completed post-doctoral (Biostatistics) from University of Washington, the USA under the Fulbright program in 2013. He is continuously working at BPKIHS for 21 years. He has profundity knowledge of Biostatistics, research methodology and data analysis. He teaches Biostatistics for Master Level Public Health, M.Sc. Nursing and Post Graduate Medical students. He has conducted several health researches as a principal investigator. He also has excellent disseminating skill on research findings which can be scrutinized through almost six dozens of international and national publications. He is editorial board members of many international journals. He was awarded with ‘Young Scientist Award’ in 2009, Nepal Bidhyabhusan ‘KA’ in 2010 and Honored by the President - Constitutional Assembly, 2011. He has presented many conference papers in USA, UK, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, India and Nepal.
