Biography

Hongqiao Cai, MD, PhD, is currently affiliated with the First Hospital of Jilin University, China. His research is dedicated to the development of innovative therapeutic strategies through the integration of nanotechnology, with a particular focus on translational applications in oncology and infectious diseases. In 2018, he was awarded a prestigious scholarship by the China Scholarship Council to conduct one year of innovative research at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Rutgers University. Over the years, he has built a solid foundation in molecular biology, chemical biology, clinical medicine, and translational research. His recent efforts have centered around the use of nanomaterials for precision therapy, especially in complex pathological environments. He has published more than 10 peer-reviewed SCI papers as first author, including 2 in Q1 journals (Top 2%) and 2 in Q2 journals, with a cumulative impact factor exceeding 40.0 and a highest single IF of 15.1. He holds an H-index of 8.0. He has been principal investigator on two major grants funded by the Natural Science Foundation of Jilin Province and the Jilin Health Talent Program, with total funding of 600,000 RMB. In addition to his research accomplishments, he has served as a peer reviewer for multiple international journals such as International Journal of Surgery and held editorial positions including his tenure as an Editorial Board Member of World Journal of Clinical Oncology (2024–2027)
