Biography

Marcos De Donato is BSc in Biology, from Universidad de Oriente, Venezuela, graduated with honors in 1992, he got his PhD in Genetics in 1999 from Texas A&M University, Texas, USA. Worked for 20 years in Universidad de Oriente, Venezuela as a professor, teaching Molecular Biology related courses for undergrads and graduate students. He is Stayed 6 months at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, as a visiting Scholar and 2 years as a visiting researcher in Cornell University from 2010 to 2012. Currently works in Tecnologico de Monterrey as a professor, teaching Genetics and Genomics related courses and carrying out research in molecular microbiology, infectious diseases and animal molecular genetics and genomics. He has more than 80 publications in indexed journals, and more than 1,500 citations. He has presented more than 200 abstracts in international scientific events. He carries out research collaborations with scientists from USA, Venezuela, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, among others.
