Biography

Aishwarya Kumar is a senior research scientist at Clinical Trial Service Unit, Oxford University. She completed her doctorate at Loughborough University, United Kingdom in Translational Chemical Biology, a cross-discipline group within the School of Sports, Exercise and Health Science. Her doctorate studies focused upon interrogating mechanism of action of naturally occurring anti-inflammatory agents (fish oil) on respiratory health (asthma and exercise induced asthma). She has written several papers including reviews, methodological papers and full research papers. She has presented at international conferences and received “Young researcher grant" to attend the European Respiratory Society Annual conference in Vienna, Austria. She has experience of teaching at both undergraduate and A level within the U.K. She has worked with Public Health England on development of enzyme based assays for detecting prion proteins in hospital instruments including endoscopes, surgical tools and dental equipment. Her current research at Clinical Trial and Epidemiological Service Unit within the Nuffield Department of Population Health at Oxford University involves development of new high-throughput automated analytical techniques for use in large-scale blood-based epidemiological studies.
