Biography

Bassam Yaghmour MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Keck School of Medicine of USC is Associate Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Center-Director of Pulmonary Hypertension Research and is a Faculty Pulmonologist and Intensivist at Keck Hospital of USC and LAC-USC Medical Center. He received his Medical School training at Aleppo University School of Medicine in Aleppo, SY, his Internal Medicine Training at Henry Ford Hospital-Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and his training in Pulmonary-Critical Care Medicine at University of Tennessee Heath Science Center in Memphis, TN where he served as Chief Fellow of Quality Improvement and Research. Dr.Yaghmour is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He received multiple ATS and ACCP fellow track Symposium awards and recognized during his fellowship for his strong patient advocate and outstanding care for Pulmonary Hypertension. He has authored multiple papers and interesting case in pulmonary hypertension published in Chest journal and has presented his research work at national and international seminars. He has been participating in several trials of innovative medical treatments for pulmonary hypertension, many of which are still ongoing. He is holding Professional Society Membership with Pulmonary Hypertension Association, Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute, American college of Chest Physician and American Thoracic society. Dr.Yaghmour's research focus is to describe the physiologic abnormalities that are caused by PH using measurements of Cardiopulmonary Exercise testing before and after treatment, and to study new noninvasive tools to better assess endothelial dysfunction in PH.
