Biography

Debrup Chakrabortys research is focused in the area of biomedical sciences with a special interest in exploring the mechanisms in the development and progression of different metabolic disorders including cancer, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease andtype 2 diabetes. Their lab is intensively working on investigating the molecular mechanisms of obesity-promoted cancers and how diet can actively influence the transforming activity of adipose tissue. They have observed that intra-abdominal fat can potentially trigger the formation or development of cancer in obese mice fed on high fat diet.They test new drugs to evaluate their therapeutic efficacy for the prevention or treatment of cancer and other chronic diseases.
