Biography

Jose Alberto Mendoza Espinoza is a biochemical engineer by profession from the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS). He has a Masters and PhD degree in Pharmacology from the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV IPN), he has held the Amelia Sámano Bishop and Alfredo Sánchez Marroquín Chairs (2014-2017), visiting professor UC San Diego at the Autonomous Metropolitan University campus Iztapalapa, currently a full-time professor at the Autonomous University of Mexico City. His main research topics are natural product chemistry, applied metabolomics, pharmacology, Traditional Medicine and biotechnological exploitation applied to complex matrices. He belongs to the National System of Researchers Level 2 and has 50 publications in indexed journals, 11 publications for the dissemination of science, 8 books related to medicinal plants and a book chapter related to health policies. He has participated in 70 conferences, both nationals and Internationals. In terms of human resources training, he has graduated 16 undergraduate students, 1 specialty, 4 masters and 2 doctoral students. It is important to mention that he has experience in the industry. Among his main distinctions he has obtained the best average of the Bachelor Degree in Biochemical Engineering from the Autonomous University of Sinaloa and on two consecutive occasions the award for second place in the postgraduate category of postgraduate modality at the SOMEICA congress.
