Biography

Kumud Kumar Kafle is Prof. and Head of Pharmacology, College of Medicine, NAIHS, Nepal. He was
Head of Clinical Pharmacology, Institute of Medicine, TU Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu, Nepal (1988-2012). He is Co-ordinator of International Network for Rational Use of Drugs (INRUD, Nepal), President of Alliance for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics (APUA-Nepal) and Director of Pharmaceutical Horizon of Nepal (PHON). He was chairman of Drug Committee, TU Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu, Nepal (2003-2012). He was a member of Drug Advisory Committee (1984-1998), and Drug Consultative Council (1998-2001) of the government of Nepal. He was a member of Essential Medicines List and Standard Treatment Schedules of Nepal published at different time period. He has been the chief-editor of Nepalese National Formulary published in 2010. He has been short-term WHO consultant on rational use of medicines (RUM) in number of countries. He was visiting professor in Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia, and University of Otago, New Zealand. He has about 180 publications including papers presented in different national and international conferences and published articles in national and international journals.
