Biography

Julius Soyinka is a Senior Lecturer of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, where he has been since 1998. From 2012 to 2013 he served as the Head of Department, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and as Vice-Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy from 2015 to 2017. During 2017-2018 he was a Visiting Associate Professor at the Swaziland Christian University, Swaziland. He received a B. Pharm. Degree with Distinction from Obafemi Awolowo University in 1995, and a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the same University in 2004 and 2010 respectively. His research interests span through all fields of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis, with a special focus on Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and Pharmacogenomics. Much of his work has been on drug-drug and drug-food interactions with special interests in antimalarial, antimicrobial and antiretroviral drugs. In addition he has made numerous contributions to knowledge in the field of Pharmacology and Pharmacokinetics and has several publications in the field, in various Journals of high repute.
