Biography

Alex Blum got his Ph.D in philosophy in 1968 in NYU. His dissertation was titled The Logic of Causality. In the States, he was a graduate assistant in NYU, and taught at the NY Institute of Technology and the University of Hawaii at Manoa Honolulu. In Israel, he taught at the Hebrew University, Tel-Aviv University and Bar-Ilan University where he served as Head of the Philosophy Department and Dean of Humanities. Presently he is a Professor Emeritus of Philosophy and also served as Acting Managing Editor of the Journal of Philosophy, cofounded and edited for five years Philosophia, published close to eighty articles on various topics in analytic philosophy and wrote a two volume logic text.
