Biography

Chiara Militello (PhD in Philosophy, Sciences and Culture in Late Antiquity, Middle Ages and Renaissance at the University of Salerno) is associate professor in History of Ancient Philosophy at the University of Catania. She has been Visiting Scholar at New York University and has been invited to give lectures to doctoral students at the universities of British Columbia, Cologne and Salerno. She has lead, as principal investigator, a research project on “Philosophy as Exegesis in the Imperial and Late Antique Ages: the Aristotelian Commentators” founded by the University of Catania. She has published four books and 25 papers on ancient philosophy, with a special focus on Alexander of Aphrodisias and Neoplatonic philosophers.
