Biography

As a scholar at the University of Trento, after a classical education that involved a hard training on Greek and Latin texts, Hermes Varini have been pursuing his vocation for philosophy as ΛOΓΟΣ, research, writing and art for over 18 years. He obtained his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Verona, Italy (with a thesis on 12th century Platonism, later developed into an original epistemological argument) and have studied akin topics at institutions in France and the United States. His field of specialization is chiefly medieval ontology and metaphysics, which he have thus far extensively explored in two philosophical essays, a novel and several articles. He had also written a historical-philosophical novel on the theme of the Doppelgänger, or double, and have developed a unique form of poetry in Archaic Scots, Anglo-Saxon, Ancient Greek and Latin, the latter both in a classical and medieval form. The images he create are one with his ontology, which, by setting forth the surpassing conception of Antithetical Overman, challenges the very essence of the conventional notion of supermanhood. He had lectured at European and Russian universities and won the first prize in an international competition for the best philosophical works among more than a hundred competitors worldwide. Ancient Greek, Latin and Anglo-Saxon texts are generally perused in the original language.
