Biography

Abhijit Aithal received his B.S. degree in Biotechnology from Manipal University in India and M.Sc. degree in Medical Biotechnology from Manipal University of India. PhD. degree in Life Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Since 2019- till date Instructor, University of Nebraska Medical center, Omaha, NE (USA). He was having 11 years of experience of working for various different research projects. And had experience in diverse areas ranging from cancer to infectious diseases. In addition, he has accumulated extensive expertise in immunology, cell biology and molecular biology techniques. His present research work focuses mainly on two cancer associated mucins viz MUC4 and MUC16 both of which have important functional implications in epithelial cancers such as that of lung, ovary and pancreas. As a post-doctoral scholar and now Instructor at UNMC, he has contributed to the various ongoing research programs by generating novel hypotheses, and reagents.
