Biography

Dr. Athar Ansari is the professor of Biological Science at Wayne State University. He obtained his PhD degree from University of Delhi. After completing his doctoral assignment, he moved to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey as a post-doctoral fellow. Following a brief stint at the University of Regina in Canada, he joined Wayne State University as the assistant professor in 2006. He has published his research findings in eminent journals like Nature, Genes and development, Proceeding of National Academy of Sciences USA, Molecular Cell and EMBO Journal among others. He is on the editorial board of several journals, and has served as ad hoc reviewer for a number of scientific journals and funding agencies. The research in his laboratory has been funded by National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institute of Health (NIH).
