Biography

Mahira Amirova is a science coordinator in Azerbaijan branch of Int. Academy of Science, as well as an active reviewer in several Elsevier Journals. In 1995, she has completed the dissertation on the atherosclerosis development mechanism and ways of its correction by triterpenoids. She is the Senior lecturer, Associate Professor at Biochemistry Department of Azerbaijan Medical University. Her interests cover all fields of biochemistry from theoretical up to clinical aspects, as well as Sport biochemistry and homeopathy. She has more than 30 years of experience in biochemistry teaching, both as an educator, consultant, and in the most diverse facets of research in medicine. She is focusing on a project to develop novel anti-cancer liposomes, as well as impact of the medicinal plants on organism regulatory systems, gene polymorphism affecting health in thalassemia and cancer.
