Biography

Dr. Zicheng Niu is a senior engineer in the Geochemical laboratory of Shengli Oil field Company, SINOPEC. He received his PhD degree from China University of Petroleum (Beijing) in 2018. He was also postdoc fellowship in Shengli Oil field Company, SINOPEC (2019-2022). He has participated in a series of national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, mainly focusing on the evaluation of oil and gas resources and analysis of accumulation process of oil and gas reservoirs. His academic research has focused on (1) laboratory experiments on hydrocarbons and relevant rocks and waters, (2) petroleum source rock evaluation, especially the organic matter accumulation mechanism, (3) oil source rock correlation using biomarkers and compound-specific isotopic data, (3) basin analysis using geochemical data and basin modeling method. He has published more than 30 papers in recent years.
