Marco Oliveira has born at Curitiba, a city located in South region of Brazil, in December of 1982. He is a professor at Universidade Estadual de Maringa (UEM). Currently, Marco Oliveira is the head of the Biochemistry department of this University. At UEM, he teaches Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics, beyond lead a research team. His bachelors degree was obtained in Biology in 2005 at Universidade Federal do Parana, where he also got the Master (2007) and Doctorate (2010) degrees in biochemistry. Also, Marco spent 4 years dedicating to a post-doc at Molecular Biology in the same University. His main field of research is the biochemistry of bacterial regulatory networks. In this research, Marco employs general biochemistry techniques, bioinformatics analysis, functional genomics approaches, classical molecular biology techniques, amongst others. Specifically, Marco and his team put efforts to reconstruct metabolic pathways in vitro in order to refine the finely characterize the details of the metabolism facts. The technical development in protein biochemistry and biophysics achieved by Marco Oliveira also was important for his contribution in other areas, such as biochemistry of food proteins. Hence, beyond his own research team, Marco participate of other scientific investigation groups in different areas of biochemistry. In 2017 he started to lead a research group at a graduate program in Biological Sciences at Universidade Estadual de Maringa. In this program, Marco Oliveira already supervised a finished masters degree, and is currently supervising two Master and two doctorate students.
