Zhiqiang Wu is an post-doc in Department of Biology in CSU. He is working on the plant mitochondrial genome evolution and cyto-nuclear co-evolution in Silene genus using NGS method. He was enrolled in a PhD program from Sep. 2006 to Jul. 2011 in the research group on“Population Biology and Conservation Genetics” (http://evolution.ibcas.ac.cn/index.htm) in the State Key Laboratory of Systematic and Evolutionary Botany, Institute of Botany, CAS. He is still interested in the evolution of the chloroplast in land plant. Now, he participated the Spruce Genome Project (published in Nature), and he was in charge of the assembling the chloroplast genome of it. Additionally, he is doing the other five gymnosperms chloroplast genomes (Pinus sylvestris, Abies sibirica, Juniperus communis, Taxu baccata and Gnetum gnemon). He has combined 454 data and Illumina data together to finish the chloroplast genomes of these species. The manuscript of this part has been dealing with now.
